When asked to describe a computer programmer or web developer, what characteristics come to mind? Geeky, Nerdy, Male, Techie, etc. This list could go on and on so I will spare the details. And while this blog will attempt to tackle all of the misconceptions and generalizations about web developers, I am focused on one in particular, the concept that all programmers are men. I am a female web developer. One who likes to socialize, hang out, and who does not like video games. So, the moral of the story…this blog will contain my rants, raves, and general observations of what it is like to be a female developer.

My name is Kelly Stevens. I am a 26 year old developer from St. Louis. While I love web development it’s not the main focus of my life. When I am not being a tech nerd I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, training for my next half marathon, and of course shopping
