BlueHost and hosting your Worpress blog

Hosting is obvious one of the most important things when running a web site and it is important to do research in order to make sure you get the best hosting package for your site at the best price.  I initially chose GoDaddy hosting simply because they had the cheapest domains and their hosting was cheap as well, but if I would have done my research I would have realized that GoDaddy is not the best pick for hosting Wordpress blogs.

After much frustration I finally decide to look into another hosting provider.  I checked Wordpress and their number one suggestion was BlueHost.  I figured since Wordpress suggested them I would review them further.  Overall most people had good things to say about BlueHost, but as expected there are people that have had issues.  I checked out other providers too and in the end I decide to go with BlueHost.

As I mentioned the number one reason I went with BlueHost is because Wordpress recommends it and after realizing GoDaddy is not as Wordpress friendly as they suggest I wanted to make sure to have a provider that I could smoothly install and use Wordpress.  I was able to get several Wordpress blogs up and running, with everything functioning as it should in less than 2 hours.  This was quite a feat after spending days trying to get everything to work on GoDaddy.

Another thing that I found appealing about BlueHost is the price.  I was able to buy a year of hosting for $5.95 a month.  That is an excellent price for everything you get with their hosting package.  One thing to note if you do decide to go with BlueHost is I found a cheaper price going through and affiliate site of BlueHost rather than going directly to BlueHost.com.

If you are like me and you purchased your domains before purchasing you hosting package I was surprised at how quickly and easy it was to setup the domain to work on BlueHost.  It was as simply as changing the nameservers to point to the BlueHost and it was working within minutes.

My only complaint about BlueHost is their control panel leaves little to be desired.  While it is overall simple to use there are some things that are not as intuitive to use as they should be.  For example when I click on a file or folder I would expect it to open that file or folder, but instead it makes the file or folder name editable.  In order to open a file or folder you have to check a checkbox and then click edit.

I have had the hosting for a few months and so far I haven’t experienced any issues.  If I do end up having issues it good to know that they have 24/7 technical support available.  If you are looking for a reliable and cheap hosting provider to host your Wordpress blog then I would recommend using BlueHost.

    Great review Kelly.

You can actually end up paying only $4.95/month for a BlueHost account by going through Promo-Code.net. This might be too late for you, but I hope some of your readers will appreciate the tip.
